Si Tew
“A very talented young man from middle England with an unquenchable thirst for Electronic music!” Martin Iveson (Atjazz) Si Tew, songwriter, producer & performer started his career in the spa town of ‘Leamington’. A then bedroom DJ and underground producer playing at gritty clubs and outdoor festivals drawing in large crowds of clubbers, by his late teens he soon saw his own potential and took a more professional attitude to his musical output. Simon attended University where he pushed his abilities as a producer running radio show broadcasts, recording vocalists & performing his ever popular DJ sets in venues across the midlands. Simon graduated University after being awarded his BSc hons. in Music Technology and went on even further snatching up the BBC Urban Music Bursary in 2005 for his outstanding talents. Whilst he was deeply involved with the BBC Urban Music Bursary he met label Boss Martin Iveson who offered him an internship at his studio in the nearby city of Derby. Si Tew moved to Derby in 2007 setting up his own studio at the label headquarters. Here he began writing and recording for film and television whilst continuing to develop his own style as a fully- fledged audio professional. With Martin aka ‘Atjazz’, Simon began his first collaboration under the moniker ‘Mist Works’ where he found himself able to express his musicality professionally with no boundaries and also with an end game being a record release. During this collaborative project he found himself pulling together his own songs and productions and built these pieces of work up into what turned out to be his Debut album ‘When the clouds ran away’. A forward thinking individual with incredible talent, Onwards & upwards.

Smok
Smok a.k.a. Juha Moisala was born and raised in Oulu, the most populous city in Northern Finland. He first became interested in electronic dance music in the late '90s while visiting local events and from then on house music has played a big part in his life, both as a DJ and as an artist. During this time he has developed his own distinct style which borrows influences from the Northern Finland electronic music scene. He made his first public performance as a DJ at a local club and since this first gig in 2002, he has played in numerous clubs and parties. A few years into DJing, he became interested in producing his own music. In his own productions he has focused on deep house and his releases on Artizan Music and Audiotonic Music has been supported by names such as Shur-I-Kan, Funk D'Void, Murray Richardson, Satoshi Fumi, Stacey Pullen, Tom Lown, Ben Dean and Giom. Despite his love for house music he has developed a more versatile musical taste over the years and as a DJ you might hear him play dance music from deep and soulful house to drum'n'bass.

Jebari
To perceive E-contact as a minimal or techno producer could be largely unfair, for dance-floor is far from being his only target. As an early starter (only 17 y.o. at the time of his first release) he expressed himself in everything from sensitive ambient and minimal to soulful tech house and complex, deep electronica. Always being after the purest and most innovative sounds, one can tell that E-contact dived very deep in all these waters. Years of dj-ing, producing and live-gigging earned him a great deal of international fan base. No wonder, for E-contact also happens to be a part of Gimmik and Cirkel, while his releases went onto labels such like Stock5, Remote Area, Suruba, 100%Pure. Recently, he also delivered some very memorable tech house remixing, but even there the story does not stop. Only in the last year he presented two different projects - mysteriously discreet Rekbox on Kanduka label and minihouse Jebari sound on the Phat Elephant. His Phat Elephant release is a further crystalization of the Jebari mood: another set of minimal reflexions on the ever-present house phenomenon. Even so, it is by no means yet another genre game: while flirting with the tradition Jebari does not like falling into conventions. Again and again he proves that he knows damn well how to strip it off and free it (from undesireable norm). Taking it thereby in a different stylistic direction, but never forgeting about the dance-floor request.

G Spice
"An intense relationship with sound and a drive to share energy through music was the reason G Spice got into djing. He started spinning in the early 90s performing at raves, festivals and clubs around Greece, influenced by the acid house revolution. Wietse Smit
Wietse Smit was born in 1981 in the Beemster, a place that had been a lake until 400 years ago when it was drained to make land in Noord-Holland. It's made world heritage by UNESCO. Having a writer as a father and an etcher artist as a mother, he grew up in an environment in which being creative was self-evident. As a child he has learned to play the keys when he got his first keyboard at the age of 6. His interest in making music was born. When his older brother started to mix hip-hop and produce beats on his amiga 500, Wietse soon tried out making housemusic on that machine. Using Pro tracker at the age of fourteen he made his first steps into becoming the producer he is right now. Expirimenting with his brothers turntables made him learn to dj at the age of 15 and as he became fanaticly keen on having to have the newest records he would often find that he had spent all his month's income on vinyl. Years passed and producing and dj-ing were still just hobby's until his friend Roderik Flohil introduced him to minimal techno. Roderik had then allready fanaticly been dj-ing and had been booked on several parties in holland but had no experience yet with producing. From that moment Roderik Flohil and Wietse Smit decided to team up and combine their skills as dj's and producers, learning from one another and so bringing their skills up to another level. It was then when Bla bla records had noticed them and signed their first release. After this first vinyl-pressed release, with the tech-house tracks: Fake boobs and Soundfront things got serious and they played on several venues throughout the country and released a number of records on daniel Sanchez' Bla Bla label. At some point the underground Amsterdam/Istanbul based label Phat Elerphant had shown interest in them. which resulted in fresh releases and gigs in Istanbul. This is now. Check Bla bla, Outland Records and Phat Elephant for music by Wietse Smit.

Roderik Flohil
Roderik Flohil was born in 1982, in a small town near Amsterdam. As a child he already played around with his dad`s stereo equipment all the time; a bit older, his dad told him to buy a stereo himself. The old stereo became a mixer and turntables, and soon Roderik spent most of his time at Outland Records Amsterdam, listening to and buying records. There he first fell in love with techno music, adding minimal and house to the mix a bit later. For years Roderik played music in his home town Purmerend and other places close by. Things became more serious when Roderik met Daniel Sanchez, who booked him for dance parties all around the country, such as Rotzooi, Bla Bla, Rockit, Welcome to the Future, mr. Stubnitz, and many more. Around that time Roderik met Wietse Smit. They decided to make music together, which they would later release on Bla Bla Records Amsterdam. Their first EP, 'Fake Boobs', was released on this label. Roderik and Wietse also took their successful collaboration to the stage, performing often and successfully in various venues. In 2008 Roderik played at a number of events organized by Labyrint Music, for instance in the famous Amsterdam venue the Paradiso. His collaboration with Labyrint-owner Abdullah Geels pleased the both of them, and led Roderik to join Geel's record-label, Phat Elephant, in 2010, together with Wietse Smit. After leaving Bla Bla Records Roderik's first EP for Phat Elephant came out that same year: 'Yellowcan EP', a record made with Smit. Roderik and Wietse perform often as a duo, in various venues in the Netherlands but also abroad, such as for instance at the Electronica Festival in Istanbul, Turkey, in the summer of 2011. Roderik and Wietse have extended their fruitful musical collaboration into an album, which will be released spring 2012 on Phat Elephant. Another project is coming up, this time a solo EP.

Mark Mywords
Being born in 1982, in a house with a drumkit in the basement and a father who liked hitting it more than anything else, the sound of a basedrum was one of the first things that entered Mark’s ears. The addiction to drumsounds never faded. Ten years later, when the first personal computer set foot in his bedroom, the poor thing was immediatly equiped with a Fasttracker II. Something the 486 processor wasn’t really used to. Alongside his hardworking friend, a couple of turntables (one without pitch control) popped up, together with a two channel mixer with no EQ and a 1970’s tape recorder. Seeing what mega stacks of equipment are available today, it cracks you up how much fun these pieces of simple machinery gave him. Hour after hour, night after night, fiddling with samples, or the 12” records he could afford, became almost an obsession. Times changed, and so did the equipment. Fasttracker and the old turntables had to go, but the fun remained. In 2003 came the first official DJ gig and in that same year Mark started organizing his own events. In 2011, the first tracks where released on BWG Records, Elevation Records and Strom Records, Mark received support from artists like Felix Neumann, Paul Hazendonk, SIS, Nick Holder and Paco Osuna.

Bas Struik
Bas Struik was born in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) in the mid 80’s and for as long as he can remember he has been surrounded by music. At the age of 17, he bought his first turntables. His already existing passion for electronic music grew even bigger and bigger after purchasing his first set of decks. He started collecting records and could be found in ‘Rare’ record store (R.I.P.) in Eindhoven 7 days a week. The first few years, he played a wide range of genres: from techno to minimal and from disco to electro. Artists that inspired him a lot are: Matt John, Omar S, Romanthony, Robert Dietz, Depeche Mode, Reboot, Loco Dice, Mathias Kaden, Luciano, Tim Green, Quenum, Sascha Braemer, Oliver Koletzki, Stimming, M.in, Ricardo Villalobos and Marco Resmann. Bas started out playing on big illegal raves like Diepgezonken, which got him into club nights in cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Nijmegen. One of his most memorable gigs in those days, was in the Effenaar in Eindhoven, playing alongside Dave Clarke and 2000 and One. After a whole lot of club nights, he focused himself on producing for a while. In this Period of time, he got less gigs, because he was completely focused on producing music. In 2009 Bas graduated for his audio course at the highly respected SAE in Rotterdam. When he picked up playing at events again in the beginning of 2009, the amount of gigs went up and he had a slamming first ever live performance at Lief Festival 2009! At the same time he became resident DJ for Club Poema and played his gigs all over the country while he never stopped spending time in his studio. At the moment Bas’ career is going strong. Besides spinning records at the clubs regularly, Bas locks himself in his studio to produce new tracks and to improve his live act. Proven by his very successful live gigs at Studio 80, Club Poema, ADE 2010 and at Soenda Outdoor festival 2011, his live act is an ongoing success! Always evolving, while Bas incorporates his newest tracks in it all the time, his livesets are never the same and every time surprising! With several of his EP’s and tracks released on respected labels like Sound Architecture, TEAM Records, Phat Elephant, Hi-Life and upcoming releases on Amsterdam based label 90watts, Bas has now fully dedicated his life to his career in music. Bas Struik is the dj/producer to be watched!

MURAT UNCUOGLU
With a love for music and technology, the decision to pursue a career in electronic music was not too difficult. Applying it in a traditional society, however, was the challenge. Completing high school, Uncuoglu started working at CD LAND, importing foreign LPs and the first CDs to Istanbul. Collecting a vast knowledge of the current dance music, he was approached with offers to DJ at private parties. In 1987, he began accepting the offers, and started his DJ'ing career. Soon his first residency, at Bodrum Hadigari, followed. Uncuoglu's career took a professional turn when his success at Hadigari caught the attention of the owner of Pasha Istanbul and he was immediately recruited to the club. Before long, his name became simultaneous with Pasha as he transformed the club's music scene to match that of the best in Europe. His ever-increasing urge to become a professional DJ and producer, took Uncuoglu to what was then the heart of electronic music, London. During the day, he studied sound engineering and production at London's Media Productions. At night, he conducted field research in London's legendary clubs. While there, he met international producers including Marshall Jefferson (Chicago) and BAM BAM (Chicago) and worked as their engineers at various studios. It was not long before he was DJ'ing in exclusive parties and local clubs. Upon his return to Istanbul in 1994, he embarked upon multiple projects. Consequently, he was recruited as the resident DJ at Club 2019, Istanbul's first and legendary underground club. Simultaneously, Uncuoglu embarked on his most memorable project, the co-founding of Radio 2019, the first electronic music radio station in Turkey. Thus, the first steps towards placing Istanbul on club culture's international map were taken. Since then, Murat Uncuoglu has founded MiracleWorkz, with his composer/singer associate Aytekin Kurt. Together they have created remixes for Turkey's top artists such as Tarkan, Sertap Erener, Levent Yuksel, and many more. Uncuoglu has been the resident DJ at 7th House and Switch, the top two clubs in Istanbul, not to mention being host DJs Max Graham, Dave Seaman, Lemon8, Kasey Taylor, Andy Jarod, Stewart Rowell, Breeder. Having attained national stardom and respect by both his fans and colleagues, Murat Uncuoglu has turned his attention to the international music scene.

Alican
Alican Yuksel from Istanbul/Turkey, got into the electronic dance in 2000, producing drum & bass and breaks tunes with his partner Soner Ince. In 2003 Alican had a chance to meet Murat Uncuoglu probably Turkey's strongest dj and producer. He gave Murat some of their music, he thoroughly enjoyed it, citing both of them as among some of the strongest new talents around the Turkish electronica scene, and eventually they got to work together in the studio, Murat Uncuoglu helping them hone in and develop their sound. With Murat, they have set up a label entitled ' Teknikal Rotation ' which features their own tracks, tracks from the hottest artists in Turkey and around the globe, and tracks by respectable artists in the dance scene. On another note, Alican has been hosting a weekly show on the largest and pioneering Turkish radio station, Future Generation, also known as FG 93.7 with Soner Ince for the last 6 years. Alican's tracks has been featured on labels like Get Physical, Global Underground, Vapour and many more.

TrueSelf
TrueSelf started playing guitar at the age of seven, and ventured in and out of bands throughout his teens. He took on A-Level Music Tech at seventeen, and was introduced massively to electronic music; his three favourite labels soon became Warp Records, Tru Thoughts and Ninja Tunes. It was at this point he took up DJing and producing in his spare time. Playing as ‘FooJay’, he ran and played nights with many of the industries biggest names, at venues such as Back to Basics at Stinky's Peephouse, Stealth, The Custard Factory, Ministry of Sound, Mint Club, MixMag Tour Party... Although he has an eternal passion for Deep/Soulful House music, he never constrains himself whilst producing. He is now honing in on what inspires him most in the studio; a mixture of Deep Electronic/Organic sounds. Whether it be recording soulful guitar licks or old analogue synths, he aims to portray emotion and soul. 2010 saw the release of ‘Summer Vision’, a collaboration between TrueSelf and Si Tew on M8MC Music. A feel good Hip Hop, soulful summer beat, it allowed the two producers to showcase their unique sounds. TrueSelf’s first solo single "Future Memories," and remix of Mist Works - "Common Question?" is out now on the legendary Atjazz Record Company. You can also catch him playing guitar in Si Tews band which, if you haven't experienced before, then we highly recommend that you do. Electronica meets Soul meets Hip Hop and everything in between. Nice.

Andreas Saag
Andreas Saag aka Swell Session is considered to be one of Scandinavia’s top producers in the house and club jazz scene. This young mans musical mission is to blend all genres of house, techno, jazz, soul, and club music and provide it under one alias or another, whether it be soulful techno, a house remix of a big band tune or a straight-up jazz ballad. Or something in between… As Andreas puts it: “I want music to have a purpose other than just being a track, whether it’s a love song with lyrics that makes you want to cry or just a mad, danceable track that makes people smile in a club”. After releasing singles like ‘Music in her Eyes’, ‘Gone’ and ‘Let me Decide’ on Swedish label Hollow Recordings he joined Freerange (as Stateless) and Swedish label SLS as Andreas Saag. Both the jazz flavoured techno singles ‘Jazz Lesson’ and ‘Latin Lesson’ on SLS and the pioneering nu jazz classic Stateless album ‘Art Of No State’ on Freerange were well received around world. While tracks ‘Tristeza’ and ‘Get It On’ were played by the likes of Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier it was singles such as ‘Falling Into’ and ‘Leave Me Now’ from the Stateless album that were grabbing the ears of the likes of Gilles Peterson and the Bugz crew. During this time Andreas was also busy doing remixes for acts like Ennio Morricone, Jimpster and London Elektricity. His remix of Susumu Yokota’s ‘King of Darkness’ was a big hit on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide and his re:jazz remix of Soul Patrol’s ‘Release your mind’ rocked dance floors throughout 2004. He also produced tracks on Ernesto’s Japan exclusive album “Find the form” which has been a huge success on Columbia. Andreas is the mastermind behind the music and has been making music since early childhood. He was influenced by his father’s love of electronic music. Artists such as Brian Eno and 60’s soundtrack experimentalist David Axelrod inspired Andreas to create progressive and original tracks. Another major influence is jazz legend Herbie Hancock, who motivated Andreas to master improvisation skills on his first instrument, the keyboard. Andreas started playing the piano at the tender age of six and discovered techno and other experimental music when he was just 14. In 2007 the first Swell Session album “Swell Communications” was released on Freerange with contributions from such luminaries as Mr Scruff, Seiji, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Sleepwalker, Jimpster, Simbad and Domu. At the moment Andreas is focused on deep house and techno although with the mission of spicing it up with live soulful and jazzy elements. EP’s are planned on Freerange as well as Room with a view where his track Jazz Lapse has already created quite a buzz when it appeared on the compilation “Perspectives 02”. There are also rumours about some bootlegs coming out soon as well as deephouse/dubstep experiments with Milton Jackson.

And in 2013 he’ll be stepping it up again, making music for the world to listen to while dancing, cycling or not to listen to at all.

Offshore & Coen
Producing together since 2010 these two guys try to create a sound balancing between deep and smooth. Offshore played in several bands as a drummer and frontman. A few years ago he started to produce dance music and found his way as a DJ. Today he enjoys to play slow deep tunes at the beginning of his sets, pitching up to speed and depth what is needed on the dancefloor. Coen had his inspiration years ago when house was first entering the world. Finally he started to DJ ten years ago and today his gigs are modern Deep with a classic flavour. Both guys met at the beginning of 2010 and they had similar interests regarding dancemusic. With Offshore already producing they decided to team up. Resulting in a first release with tracks like Floating and En Route (2011). In 2012 they released thru Ambiosphere Recordings the EP My Definition, with remixes of Dirty Priest and Firmware included. This year, 2013, they released on that label new tracks like Coherse, You & Me and Drifting, containing a remix by Remy Unger. Next release will be on Phat Elephant Amsterdam, containing Rosalie and Panja & Elaine, two very nice deep flavoured tracks. So far they go steady! Their gigs are always full of deepness and they make sure the dancefloor is happy and in contact with themselves and that means: Party! They played the last years on several occasions, such as Burst The Hague (with Will Saul and Bicep), Thurst The Hague, Olympique Amsterdam, Schmutzigkeit The Hague, Simple The Hague and gigs in different clubs and bars.
